Creating a Tag
- On the home menu, click on “Create”.
- Pick the tag type you would like to create. There are 3 tag categories (School, Gear, and Golf) that have information tailored for each type.
- Enter the information in the fields you wish to have recorded to tag (fields with red asterisks require an entry).
- Click on “Save Record” when complete.
- Click on “Write to Tag” button.
- Upon prompt hold your tag or label near backside of phone.
Device Read Area: On iPhones this read area is near the top/backside and on Android phones this area is commonly near the middle/backside.
Gear Tags can be written to as many times as you like. Tags do not need to be erased in-between writing. Existing data on tag will be written over with new tag data without warning. The tag record stored will remain until erased within app.




Edit Tag
- From Main Menu Click on the “Edit/Write” button.
- Choose your tag type.
- Choose your tag name you wish to Edit. If no tag record exists, you will first need to create one from the main menu.
- Change information as needed.
- Click on “Save Record” when complete.




Attaching it to your Gear
- Attach your tags to your gear (hat, gloves, keys, backpack, jacket, golf club, band instrument, etc.…) using the included attachment accessories. For best adhesion while using labels make sure your placement area is clean and dry. Before attaching labels to golf clubs thoroughly clean area with a isopropyl alcohol wipe.








Lost and Found
Finding an item with a Gear Trakr Tag
- Once found, open the app and choose “Read” from main menu.
- Hold backside of phone near tag or label upon prompt.
Device Read Area: On iPhones, this area is near the top/backside and on Android phones, this area is commonly near the middle/backside of device.



- The tag owner’s information should now be displayed. You have the option to click on phone number or email field to call, message or email owner. If you’re able to return the lost item to the owner yourself (like a lost item found in School) please do.
- Upon scan of tag, a notification will be sent to owner letting them know their lost “Tag Name” has been found. No personal information of tag finder is shared to tag owner, though if tag finder has an organization name in profile this will be shared in notification (please see notification section for further details).



Notifications
Regular User vs. User within an Organization
Scenario #1: Item found by another regular Tag User.
- As a tag owner, when your item is scanned after being found you will receive a notification on your device…example below.

- The person who found your item will contact you using the information that you shared during your tag creation. No information by the finder of the item will be shared with the owner.
Scenario #2: Item found by a user within an Organization (like a school or golf course).
- As a tag owner, when your item is scanned after being found you will receive notification on your device…examples below.


- The person who found your item can either return the item directly to the owner (if found in school) or they will contact you using the information that your shared during your tag creation. No information by the finder of the item will be shared with the owner beyond the organization name.
Erase Tag
- From Main Menu Click on the “Erase” button.
- Select Tag type you want to erase.
- Touch tag near your device read area upon prompt.
Device Read Area: On iPhones, this area is near the top/backside and on Android phones, this area is commonly near the middle/backside of device.
- All data will be erased from tag.



Erase Record
- From Main Menu Click on the “Erase” button.
- Select Erase Record.
- Select Tag type you want to erase.



- Select Tag you want to erase.
- Confirm you want to erase tag record by clicking on OK.


Erase All Records
- From Main Menu Click on the “Erase” button.
- Select Erase All Records.
- Select Tag type you want to erase.



- Confirm you want to Erase All Records under this tag type by clicking on OK.
