What is NFC technology?
- Near Field Communication (NFC) is a set of short-range wireless technology. The NFC tags requires a distance of 2 cm or less to initiate a connection.
Why am I not receiving emails from Gear Trakr.
- Check your email Spam folder, please make sure to Accept all Gear Trakr emails in your settings.
Where is the NFC reader located on my phone?
- iOS – top, middle, back of phone.
- Android – most are on middle back of phone. Please research your specific phone model to find you NFC reader location.
I created a tag, why is the app unable to read my tag?
- After creating a tag and saving it, you must “Write” to tag for the information to appear when the tag is read.
- Make sure your NFC reader is turned on within your phone settings.
I read my tag, why is the information not appearing?
- Please allow up to 10 seconds for the tag information to display when read as this depends on internet and phone data service capability at your present location.
I’m unable to read my tag, why isn’t this function working?
- Read tag within 1-8 seconds after clicking on read, if you wait to long without reading tag you may get an error.
- Make sure your NFC reader is turned on within your phone settings.
- Please research your specific phone model to find you NFC reader location, most are located on the rear of the phone.
- Some older phones may not have an NFC reader function. The iPhone 7 and newer models can read NFC tags. Most android phones produced from 2012 on can read NFC tags.
My phone number or address has changed, now what?
- Our tags are editable. Simply edit your tag in the Gear Trakr app and it will update automatically, no need to rewrite to the tag itself.
How many times can I write information to my tags before they go bad?
- There is no limit to how many times you can write to your Gear Tags, it’s limitless.
I forgot my password, how do I reset?
- Click on FORGOT PASSWORD from the bottom of app sign in page and follow instructions.
